Amsterdam’s Tenue de Nîmes and American outerwear pioneer Penfield have joined forces to create the ultimate hooded mountain parka. The Penfield Hoosac parka was originally designed to withstand the harsh New England winters. It combines premium down insulation with a durable cotton/nylon shell to ensure you are fully protected against the cold outdoors.
To mark this first time collaboration, Tenue de Nimes have taken it back to the original 60/40 fabric and opted for a tonal hood. This release consists of three key colours: Navy, Black and Khaki. Each of them is lined with a Down Proof Japanese chambray fabric for added comfort. Key details of the Tenue de Nîmes x Penfield Hooded Mountain parka are the slanted zipped chest pockets and the lower fleece-lined pockets which can be used as hand warmers.
The collaboration parkas are limited to 100 pieces per color and are exclusively available at Tenue de Nîmes for €359,90

About Penfield
Penfield was established in Hudson, Massachusetts in 1975, by Harvey Gross. A pioneering figure in the American outerwear industry since the early 1960s, Gross recognized and championed the strength of down insulated outerwear for its unique and unrivalled ability to provide strong, durable warmth and protection. Requiring a special manufacturing process, with only a few factories in the world expert at producing down insulated apparel, Gross decided to acquire the small manufacturing plant to produce Penfield’s down filled garments, and bring all operations in-house.
Penfield’s first collection consisted of four key outerwear styles, all made from an innovative rip-stop Nylon fabric, insulated with down and quilted to hold the insulation in place. Each garment was expertly designed to withstand the diversity of the harsh New England climate and manufactured by a team of dedicated craftsmen at a small factory located in an old textile mill in Hudson, Massachusetts.
Over the years, Penfield became one of the market leaders at producing high quality outerwear embodying the stylish ‘New England’ aesthetic. Its good were distributed through department stores and boutiques across the U.S. before catching the attention of the American outdoor specialty industry. Penfield caters to enthusiasts of life in the open. It was this stylish New England aesthetic, that helped to introduce the ‘American Wilderness’ look to an international market, as Penfield began exporting to Japan in 1979. The brand quickly gained worldwide recognition for its high quality, stylish outerwear – always incorporating three fundamental principles: utility, strength and durability.
